👋 Who are you, Lucy?
Hi, I’m Lucy Werner — writer, strategist and founder of Hype Yourself.
For over twenty years, I’ve worked in PR and creative industries, helping small businesses and solopreneurs get seen and get paid. After running my own London agency, I swapped city life for the French countryside and rebuilt my career around writing, teaching, and supporting the self-employed community.
Hype Yourself is where I share everything I’ve learned about visibility, creativity, and self-promotion to help you get seen and get paid.
If you’ve found your way here, you’re part of a growing network of independent thinkers who want to promote their work in a way that feels good and earn an income from your expertise.
I’m also the co-founder of three children, owner of one bonkers cockapoo, and currently studying French part-time. I’m a proud one-woman band, so if I’m a bit slow to respond and you need something urgently, just nudge me at lucy@thewern.com — I’ll always get back to you.
🔐 How do I log in?
Go to www.hypeyourself.com and click Sign in in the top right corner.
Use the same email address you already receive newsletters on — no new account needed.
You don’t need a password either. Ghost sends you a magic link by email. Click that link, and you’ll be straight in.
If it doesn’t arrive right away, check your spam or promotions folder.
📱 Do I need an app or new login?
Nope! You already have what you need.
You can read everything directly on the website, or in your inbox exactly as before. Simply sign-in with the email you receive your newsletters through.
🤔 What is Ghost?
It’s not a new social platform or community app.
It’s a publishing space that lets me send newsletters, run memberships, and share resources in one place safely and securely.
Think of Ghost as the Squarespace or WordPress of newsletters, it’s simply where Hype Yourself now lives.
Ghost is also a not-for-profit platform, built for independent creators.

🪩 Why did you leave Substack?
Great question! I’ll be writing about that properly soon — and I’ll link it here once it’s baked.
The short version: I wanted more creative freedom, flexibility, and control to make your membership even better. And better customer service / technical support if anything went wrong again.
💬 Where’s the community now that we’re not on Substack?
Our community lives in the comments section of paid posts and our monthly live sessions — that’s where we share wins, swap advice, and talk honestly about the self-employed life.
And I’m already cooking up more ways to bring us together in the months ahead.

💸 How do I cancel my membership?
You can manage your subscription anytime from your desktop.
Step 1: Click on the green button at the top of your screen to 'Sign-in'
(If it says Account, click on that button)
Step 3: In the second box, click change and you can cancel your subscription from here
⚠️ Important: Clicking “unsubscribe” in an email only stops newsletters — it doesn’t cancel your paid plan.
To fully cancel your membership, follow the steps above.

🧾 How do I get a receipt or invoice?
All payments are handled securely through Stripe.
You can view or download receipts directly from your original payment confirmation email.
If you have renewed and can’t find it, drop me a note and I’ll resend it manually.
🌼 Anything else I should know?
- Paid members receive The Hype weekly, practical prompts, strategies, and behind-the-scenes access. Bi-monthly directories and a monthly live class with me. Access to all the archives and the community.
- Free members get The Hype Edit once a month, a curated digest of inspiration and useful links and occasional other useful email drops
- You can always start a 7-day free trial to explore everything inside.
⏰ How I do start the 7-day free trial?
- Sign-in or create an account: Look for the green box in the top right of your desktop
- Manage your subscription: On the second box down select manage. Whether you sign up for monthly or annually, you can register for the 7-day free trial
